It is the 29th June and already another month has gone. Becky, Patrick and myself had a lovely few days away in Dubai where it was very hot but at the same time very enjoyable. We were very well looked after by Brian Powell who is Saeed Bin Suroor’s assistant in Dubai and he very kindly took the time to show us around their racing stables. Feargal Cooper who works for the Dubai Racing Club also showed us around Meydan Racecourse along with the International stables and gallops. Both visits were very kindly arranged by Marie Sullivan who is the Bloodstock Sales Manager at Darley who we have bought a few horses from in the past. It was great to have a couple of winners last week with Isthereadifference winning at Newton Abbot on the 23rd June and the success was made even sweeter as Richard and Pauline Hutchinson were over from America to watch him race. He has had three runs this year with 2 wins and a 3rd and gives us some great days out. Commitment ran on the 24th June and also put up a very game performance to win. He had made a very pleasing Chase debut on his previous run and to put that experience to good use to make it 3 wins from 4 runs at Worcester. He has got stronger again this year and is hopefully still improving and can continue his good run for his owner Helen Cross. We had a couple of runners yesterday at Uttoxeter where the ground was too tacky, The Bay Bandit finished 3rd and was in the money once again for the Neil Mulholland racing Club but he will be much happier back on a sounder surface next time. He will now go back to Jersey on Sunday 121th July to defend his Champion Hurdle crown which looks a hotter race this year but he is in good order and I’m sure he will make his presence felt. Kilcross Boy makes his debut for me tomorrow in the 8.30pm in Stratford for the Neil Mulholland Racing Club, he has good place form in Ireland and hopefully he will run into the prize money once again tomorrow. All else is good around the yard the horses all seem fine and any new horses that have arrived over the summer seem to have settled in well. I have a few horses for sale which are not yet up on the website as they are out at grass so we will leave them to enjoy their rest but when I get them back in I will put all their details including pictures up on the website in the Horses For Sale section.
