This weekend started off on a high note with Mr Burbidge winning at Chepstow on Friday evening and June French just getting touched off at Plumpton. So thankfully the horses remain in good form and hopefully Harley Rebel can continue that in the last race at Kempton tomorrow and back up his promising seasonal debut run where he finished 3rd. The main talking point for racing this weekend was AP McCoy retiring which I find very sad as he will be a great loss. He is an unbelievable man in every way who did so much for racing. He had 24 rides for me this season which resulted in 11 winners and 5 places. Every time I booked him I was excited as I knew that I was booking the best and booking a hero which reflected in the results and as I said earlier he will be sadly missed. Several more of the horses have gone out to grass, the sun is shining and the grass is growing so they are all having an enjoyable break. I won't have that many runners this week, as mentioned earlier Harley Rebel runs at Kempton tomorrow. Pass The Time is going to go to Punchestown on Saturday for the Mares' Grade 1, it looks a very competitive race but there is very good prize money down to 6th place so hopefully she can give her owner Mike Burbidge an enjoyable few days away as he has not been racing in Ireland before. This is the time of the year for getting all the yard power washed and painted for next season so we will be kept busy and we will as usual be trying to keep upgrading the yard. I will hopefully be sorting out the Owners and Friends Day this week so hopefully I will be able to give you a date to put in your diary and as usual if anyone would like to come and have a look around the yard who hasn't been to Conkwell before, please feel free to give me a call on my mobile and I would be delighted to show you around.
