The calm before the storm - the next couple of weeks are not that busy with racing so this week Becky, Patrick and myself have managed to get away to the sun for a few days which is fantastic and it is great to spend a bit of time with them as early July a lot of the horses will be coming back in after their well-deserved rest. Since the Blog was last updated Minella Present won his Novice Chase at Fontwell ridden by Noel Fehily, I also had two runners in Jersey on Saturday 13th June which were Agapanthus and Mrs Burbidge and thankfully both of them won. They were both ridden by Mark Quinlan, Agapanthus won over hurdles and Mrs Burbidge won on the flat. Even though my last two runners were winners I have felt that a couple of the horses weren’t just right so they will be having an easy week on the gallops this week to shake off any little bug that might be around. My next runners entered are for Worcester on Sunday 21st June which are June French and Indian Stream who will also have other entries later in the week. All else is pretty quiet around the yard with a lot of the staff taking their holidays before the season kicks in. We are well on with the steam cleaning and painting and as usual trying to make improvements where possible.
