Master Burbidge was going great guns and jumping soundly when he unfortunately got the tenth all wrong and came down. It was a nasty looking fall for both horse and jockey but thankfully both Harry and Master Burbidge came back unscathed. It was a little out of character as his jumping has always been one of his biggest assets and he should be able to bounce back from that, especially on better ground. Kalondra just bumped into a better horse on the day but still collected some decent prize money for finishing second in the Grade 2 'Rising Stars' novice chase and there should be plenty of opportunities with him for the rest of the season. In the Badger Ales Trophy, Pilgrims Bay looked like finishing in the money until he got tired after the second last. He can be expected to improve for that run as it would have stretched his stamina over that far on that ground, while Southfield Royale again turned in a below-par effort so we may try something different with him next time out.

On to Sunday where Solighoster put in a most impressive performance on his seasonal reappearance/chasing debut, jumping with aplomb under James Best and drawing right away up the run in from a decent field. That win now puts his record on soft ground at four wins from four runs and he has demonstrated his toughness and versatility as he has won a PTP, a bumper, over hurdles and now over fences. He's got a lot of ability, a professional and willing attitude and we are excited about the season ahead for him after that display.

Most Celebrated was another to take a nasty looking fall at Sandown, but like Master Burbidge, he too is completely fine. He made a novicey mistake and seemed to dive at the third last, but thankfully he galloped away and is none the worse. Fingerontheswitch was much happier back over hurdles at Ffos Las despite the underfoot conditions being far from ideal for him and James gave him a good ride to finish second, nicely clear of the third. We may have bumped into quite a decent horse and we can hopefully find a race for him in the coming weeks - he'll probably stay over hurdles for the time being.
