We've had a very successful few days with two of our last five runners winning and two of the others coming second. It was great to see chaser in the making Peter The Mayo Man win in assertive fashion at Worcester under Noel Fehily. He blundered two out but recovered to win quite comfortably by 10 lengths at the line. He had been off with an injury since his disappointing Bangor run in March and should come on a bit for his reappearance victory as he had a good blow after the race. Seven Clans ran an encouraging race behind and hopefully he will make a hurdler with a bit more time and experience. Prettylittlething improved for the step up in trip but just ran into one on the day. Hopefully she can be winning before too long and it would be great for James Best to ride a winner for me as he comes in to ride out quite regularly. Tell The Tale also ran a very promising second on his debut for us after finishing third on his two runs for Jason Cairns. Noel was happy with him and with a bit more luck he could go one better next time out. Collodi won really well at Chepstow yesterday, eased down close to home to score by 3 lengths for Liam Keniry who has ridden all eleven of our winners on the flat in 2016. It was Collodi's first start for me and he'd been working well at home prior to his win - his new surroundings and routine seemed to perk him up and hopefully he can be winning again before too long. In other news our Owners Day was a great success with lovely weather meaning a good turnout and my staff did a brilliant job getting every single horse plaited and looking immaculate for parading. There was plenty to do in preparation for the day but everyone pulled together and I can't credit the team enough. The horses behaved very well on the whole and have had a few steady days over the weekend meaning one or two were a bit fresh this morning but it's great to see them enjoying their work and being on such good terms with themselves. We have six entries at Newton Abbot on Friday and will be looking to continue our great start to the season there.
