October has arrived so now all we are waiting for is a bit of safe ground and hopefully then we will be able to get some of the winter horses out for their first run of the season. Also in October hopefully we will be adding another member to our family as Becky’s due date is the 20th October. We don’t know if it is a boy or a girl so that will be a nice surprise but the main thing is that Mum and baby are ok. As I said in my last update September is a quiet month and that we wouldn’t have many runners. I have one runner today on the Flat at Windsor, which is Seven Clans in the 16:35pm race. He will learn a lot from this as he is having his first run on the track. This Saturday and Sunday coming is the two-day meeting at Chepstow Racecourse which feels like the start of the winter Jump Season. I took a few horses away last week to gallop them on grass, it was a first time for a few of them to gallop on grass and thankfully it all went well. A few of the younger horses are now getting close to making their first appearance on the track which will more than likely be in Bumpers- we have some nice young horses hopefully by the looks of it. Everything else is pretty steady around the yard at the moment and there is not much else to report.
