Liz Harrington

Office and Racing

Liz takes care of the day to day office work for me and goes racing most days when I have a runner. She is a great help in the yard and she helps me feed every morning. Racing is what she lives for.

 

 

 

 

Mark Quinlan

Assistant Trainer

Mark was my conditional jockey for many years when I first started training and it was good to welcome him back as my assistant trainer in January 2017. He rode many winners for us as a jockey but has now taken on this new and challenging role and it's great to have someone like him by my side.

 

Georgina Murgatroyd

Head Girl

Georgie joined me in the summer of 2011. Georgie works to a very high standard which is fantastic for me knowing that the staff care. She has a lot of experience in the eventing and horse racing world. She is a great help to me and a hard working team player. She has horses of her own who she regularly competes. 

 

Maisie Bush

Barn Leader

Maisie joined in the spring of 2016. She enjoys hunting and team chasing with her own horse when she gets the chance and also has shown ROR horses. She has a wide range of experience and skills including breaking-in, pre training and comes from a point to point background. Maisie has a real affection with Carole's Destrier and is a great asset to our yard.

    

Shannon Scrivens

Barn Leader

Shannon joined me in July 2014 after spending three months at the British Racing School in Newmarket. She is a local girl who was brought up with ponies and is a keen and dedicated member of the team.

Phillip Donovan

Conditional Jockey

Phillip joined us in February 2017 and claims a valuable 7lbs. His father breeds a few mares and trains a few pointers so he has had experience helping out with those while growing up. He took out his apprentice licence and rode on the flat in Ireland for three seasons before coming to the UK and switching to the jumps, spending time with Fergal O'Brien before moving to us. In his spare time, Phil will regularly be seen with a snooker cue in hand or watching the hurling on TV.

 

 

 

 

Harry Reed

Conditional Jockey

Harry joined us in January 2017. He has had plenty of race-riding experience and has fit in well with the other lads. He has been around horses from a very young age and has done plenty of hunting and pony-racing. He is a good addition to the team and his 7lbs claim will be a great asset to us this season.

 

 

 

James King

Amateur Jockey

James is a very successful amateur rider. He started off on a good note when his first ever ride was a winner and he has had many winners point to pointing and under rules since obtaining his licence at seventeen. Since then he has been champion hunter chase rider in 2016 and was also placed 2nd in the Aintree Foxhunters 2016 before winning it in 2017, when also taking the champion amateur crown. We are very happy to have him as part of the team this season. 

Billy Page

Stable Lad/HGV Driver

Billy has ridden since a young age, moving into racing from a mainly hunting background and being involved with the pony club. He holds an HGV licence and drives our lorry to the races - Billy is a great asset to the yard and he always has a smile on his face. 

 

Dan Higginson

Work Rider/Office

Dan started with me during July 2015 with previous experience in the industry. His long term ambition is to be involved in the training or the media aspect of racing and he completed his level 3 diploma in the summer of 2017. He is very keen and dedicated and channels his talents through social media as well as being responsible for maintaining our website. 

 

 

 

Andriy Severin

Head Yard Man

Andriy has been with me since the first day I started training. He is a very experienced horseman and all of his experience has been on the yard. Andriy is a very conscientious worker and a very trustworthy man. Andriy will not leave a job until it is done properly.

 

Christie Revill

Stable Lass

Christie joined me from the Northern Racing College following the completion of her NVQ level 1 in race horse management. Her riding has improved drastically in the time she has been with us and she is a caring and considerate member of the team. She is a hard worker and quickly completed her NVQ level 2, before undertaking her level 3 which she is currently working towards. 

 

Millie Wonnacott

Stable Lass

Millie joined the yard in September 2016 and has fit in well. She has worked with horses from a young age and has a pony racing background. She has a couple of horses of her own to ride in point to points this season and aims to take out her amateur licence later on down the line. 

 

 

James Paget

Stable Lad

James worked for me for several seasons before spending the summer of 2016 in Jersey where he had two rides on the flat. He recently returned to the yard and hopes to get more experience race-riding in the future. James has a particular affection with younger horses.

Anna Small

Stable Lass

Anna joined the yard in late January 2017. She came to us after completing a three month course at the Northern Racing College as well as gaining her Level 3 Diploma in Equine Management. She quickly settled in and is a polite and hard working member of the team.

Dalpat Singh

Stable Lad

Dalpat joined in summer 2015 and has worked in racing since a young age. He has worked in several different countries, he loves to go racing with the horses he rides and is a reliable member of the team.

 

Prem Singh

Stable Lad

Prem has also worked in racing many years. He does not go racing but rides out and works hard on the yard at home, helping out with yard duties on occasions too.

 

 

 

Chloe Conlon

Stable Lass

Chloe is new to racing but has had experience hunting and eventing as well as having grown up with her own horses at home. She recently completed an Equine Studies College Course before joining us in early January 2017 and is looking forward to what the racing industry can offer.

Sophie Fisher

Stable Lass

Sophie has grown up with horses and has plenty of experience including being involved in the retraining of ex racehorses. She initially came to work on a part-time basis as she had another job outside of racing, but really enjoyed it and has now joined us full time. She works hard around the yard and is a popular member of the team. She loves going to the races with the horses she rides and in her spare time she likes socialising with her friends.

Kori o'Sullivan Glassey

Stable Lad

Kori joined us in the summer of 2017 ahead of the new season. He has had his own horses since the age of 11 and broke his two youngsters in himself. He has helped out with dificult/problem horses in the past and has plenty of experience. He has settled in well and would like to apply for his flat license in the near future. In his spare time he can be found doing overtime on the tractor or socialising with friends.

 

 

 

Daisy Watts Hewson

Stable Lass

Daisy is new to the team and has fit in really well. She has two horses of her own at home and worked for an arab endurance yard for 3 years, before deciding she fancied getting involved in racing. Daisy works hard around the yard and is enjoying her transition to working with thoroughbreds. In her spare time she competes her younger horse in British dressage.

 

 

Sophie Norejko

Stable Lass

Sophie joined the team in August 2016. She has lots of general riding experience and has two children with ponies, so enjoys spending time hunting and showing with them when time allowsShe is helpful and knowledgeable and is a great help with the clipping and mane-pulling when necessary.

Amelia Norris

Stable Lass

Amelia is our newest recruit having joined us in October 2017. She has worked with horses from a young age and recently came into racing from a showjumping yard in Dorset. She has fit in really well and is a hard working and considerate member of the team.

 

 

Joan Cousins

Part-Time Stable Lass

Joan has been with us for a couple of seasons, joining us from the stud she had worked at for over 20 years before it closed down due to the owners retiring. She has a plethora of experience from working with foals, to breaking horses in, completing pre-training and has also ridden in point to points. In her spare time, Joan loves socialising with friends and eating out and she is a vital member of the team.

Sam Ward

Part-Time Stable Lass

Sam joins us several days a week and brings a wealth of experience, having worked for several yards in the past. She has worked with breakers and been involved in pre-training as well as having experience hunting and showing. She only joins us part time as she has a young daughter and is busy running her sheep farm. 

 

 

 

 

Robyn Waterson

Part-Time Work Rider

Robyn is a familiar face around the yard as she has been with us for several seasons. She now works full time for Equine Products UK Ltd but still comes in as much as she can to ride out and also provides nutritional support and advice to the yard.

 

 

 

Liam Harrison

Part-Time Work Rider

Liam is the baby of the gang, riding out most Saturday mornings and school holidays. He has a competitive racing pony and is proving to be very successful. He is extremely talented and we are all hoping that he is going to be a top jockey one day.

 

 

Andzrej Zmunda

Yard and Gallops Man

Known as Andy, his most important job is to maintain the gallops so that they are freshly harrowed and rolled for the horses to safely exercise each morning. He helps keep the yard nice and tidy from washing the lorries to cutting the grass - a key member of the team. 

 

 

 

Yuriy Oberemok

Part Time Handy Man

Yuriy helps muck out around the yard when needed and is very good with the handyman jobs. He is a great help and very useful to us all.

Alex John

Yard Man

Alex is a hard worker on the yard. He always has a smile on his face and is very polite and helpful. He works to a good standard and is very quick and efficient - he's a good member of the team.

Yard Man

Anoup is another member of the yard team. He is helpful and hard working and keeps things running smoothly alongside the other lads.
